20th April 2010 - UKFSC patron Mike Golding has provided a fantastic auction prize for one lucky bidder in our charity auction - a trip out on Ecover Extreme 40 with Mike and his crew.  Press the play button below to see the potential opportunity this offers.

8th March 2010 - Airwave Solution Ltd, who form a core pillar of the integrated communications strategies of public services organisations helping them achieve their aim of working more efficiently and effectively to make communities safer and improve the wellbeing of citizens, have agreed to become Silver Sponsors of the event in 2010.  Airwave will also join us on the water too, having decided to join the competition in every sense of the word.  So watch out for their logo on their sponsor's yacht as well as one of the 999 competitors.

18th February 2010 - UKFSC opens its web-based shop where competitors can pre-order goods for collection on the first day of the event.  To start the goods on offer will be predominantly high quality clothing that the committee are proud to offer and competitors would be pleased to wear.  Visit the shop right now.

10th January 2010 - UKFSC have decided that every competitor in the 2010 Challenge will receive a commemorative T-shirt emblazoned with the UKFSC logo.

8th December 2010 - Mick Stead reports that 20 teams have committed to the telet UKFSC 2010.  Given that there is still over a month until the official closing date for entries this figure demonstrates an indicative significant increase in the level of entrants over the previous record breaking 2009 event.  Get your entry in FAST!!

8th December 2009 - The UKFSC organising committee have, in recognition of their continued support, decided to rename the 2010 UKFSC event "The telent UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge 2010".

23rd November 2009 - Regular Gold Sponsor of the UKFSC event telent Communications Ltd have again agreed to sponsor the event in 2010.  telent, who have sponsored the event since 2006, have also competed since 2007, their commitment to us even during very difficult financial times has been very much appreciated.

9th October 2009 - The charity Help for Heroes is to join the Fire Fighters Charity as the two charities to benefit from the UKFSC 2010.  Last year we raised £5,000 for our chosen charities and in 2010 we hope, with your support, to surpass this and continue to to provide improvements to the event overall

22nd September 2009 - Accommodation specialists Solent Nightz Ltd has agreed to to become a Bronze sponsor for the UKFSC in 2010.  Solent Nightz provided crews with accommodation at the 2009 event and we are happy to renew our 'Official Accommodation Agency' agreement with them for for 2010.

18th September 2009 - Former Fire officer and UKFSC competitor in 2009, Graham Reeve, is the first to sign a sponsorship deal with the UKFSC committee for the 2010 event.  Graham's company InspecFire are to be Bronze sponsors sponsoring an all important trophy.

1st September 2009 - Cowes Yacht Haven and Events Centre have been booked to host the 2010 UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge.  The Haven has offered competitors a unique atmosphere and superb culinary presentations for the past 2 years and we are pleased to renew our association.

29 July 2009 - Date fixed for UKFSC 2010.  The challenge will begin again on 27th April 2010.  Make sure you've signed up!

20th June 2009 - UKFSC 2009 raises £5,000 for charity.  The organising committee are pleased to announce that the 2009 challenge raised £2,500 for each of our chosen charities.  The 2009 charities were The Fire Fighters Charity and COPS (UK).

30th April 2009 - Congratulations are extended to the crew of West Yorkshire 2 skippered by Peter Crowther who won UKFSC 2009.  For a full race report go to the Media Links page.

2nd April 2009 - Wiltshire based Inspired2Learn have agreed to become Silver Sponsors for UKFSC 2009 and have chosen to sponsor the Wiltshire Police entry . Inspired2Learn provide training in coaching, NLP and all aspects of leadership and management to a wide range of customers in the private and public sector. We would like to welcome Barrie and all at Inspired2Learn in Devices and thank you all for your generous support.

16th March 2009 - Boddingtons Electrical 's Nick Jordan has very kindly agreed to sponsor UKFSC 2009.  On behalf of Boddingtons Nick has taken a Silver Sponsorship, a yacht sponsor, and a Bronze Sponsorship, a trophy sponsorship.  Boddingtons Electrical is a supplier of electrical safety equipment to the fire service.  Welcome Nick and all those at Boddingtons Electrical and thank you for your generous support.

4th March 2009 - Be sure to bring along some i.d. with you if you want to bag yourself a bargain! Shaun Coote has not only got the Sailing Clothing Store to donate a raffle prize to UKFSC but also to offer competitors an additional 10% off their range at their Aquatogs Chandlery, based in Cowes Marina on the Isle of Wight.  With some of the most competitive prices already available this additional discount is worth having.  You must have i.d. with you and the offer is only valid for the duration of the event.

4th March 2009 - Competitors for the UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge have now increased in number to 31, and there is still the potential that another two yachts will enter the fray before the event actually commences!

4th March 2009 - Auction and Raffle prizes sought on the UKFSC's behalf by Shaun Coote has now increased in value to a magnificent £2170.  No need for skippers to provide pots of jam this year then!  Well Done Shaun.

19th February 2009 - Solent Nightz, has linked with UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge to offer quality accommodation to competitors who feel that life on a yacht should be restricted to the daytime only.  With an abundance of hotel, B&B, crew or luxury lets Solent Nightz is able to meet all tastes and budgets.  In addition to being a UKFSC sponsor Solent Nightz is also offering to top up our charity pot with a percentage of any lettings they achieve.  So come on your comfort is now an earner for charity too!

3rd February 2009 - Mike Golding O.B.E., world class sailor and long time friend of the UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge has kindly agreed to become our Patron.  The UKFSC committee are delighted that Mike has agreed to take on this role.  He will also, diary permitting, be presenting the event trophies on the 30th April 2009 at closing ceremony at Port Solent.

28th January 2009 - Entrants for UKFSC 2009 are representative of all of the UK emergency services with guest teams from Fire, Police, Ambulance and Mountain Rescue organisations (just the Coast Guards to go!).  With 28 boats on the start line of each race the event is geared up to be one of our best.

28th January 2009 - The inclusion of Shaun Coote on the UKFSC committee has proven to be a real bonus.  Shaun has been working very hard to secure donations from more than 20 companies towards our auction and raffle.  Just as a taster for what's on offer there is a £750 chart plotter, several Go Karting tokens, a diving experience, a gliding lesson and much, much more.  With over £1,500's of gifts on offer you really do need to bring your cheque book along or you are going to miss out big time!
