MJ QUINN UKFSC 2012 resultsThe 9th consecutive running of the UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge proved to be one of the most exciting for the novice crews amongst the 27 strong fleet of 40 foot yachts chartered from Sunsail. Peter Crowther and his crew came out on top after a tough competition with 25 other yachts to win the M.J.Quinn UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge 2012. With the strongest wind strengths prevailing in the Solent since the event began in 2004, Peter demonstrated that he had the skills to get the best from his yacht and crew in the worst of conditions. It was a close run though as last years winner Mick Stead, from Hampshire, was just one point behind.A blow by blow report of the event can be found by following this link. if you wish to see individual results of each race, the class results or the white sail results then simply click the required link.M.J. QUINN UKFSC 2011 results2011 saw the 8th consecutive running of the UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge which in this year was sponsored by M.J. QUINN. The number of teams that participated in the M.J. QUINN UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge 2011 was 25. These teams represent a broad spectrum of the emergency services and included many who were new competitors to the event as well as those who were returning to the fray. Skipper Mick Stead and the crew of Hampshire Fire 1 were the winners of the MJ Quinn UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge 2011. After eight testing races over a 3-day period Mick overcame his principle contender Roger Glass only on the very last day of the regatta. UKFSC 2010 resultsThe popular UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge was run for the 7th consecutive year on 27th, 28th and 29th April 2010 on the waters of the Solent. As the event has become more well known and respected invitations have been extended to the other emergency services to participate and 2010 saw 3 Police services, 1 Airport Fire Service, 2 Event Sponsors entries as well as 22 entries from UK Local Authority Fire Services. This makes the event, probably, the only true 999 community sporting event in the country. Apart from the benefits of all of the emergency services competing in a single event and having the opportunity of meeting with colleagues and making new friends and fostering better relations, it provides an excellent platform to raise money for charity.
