UKFSC 2020 Update
The UKFSC held their on-line meeting on the 2nd April and after a full debate a unanimous vote has resulted in this year’s Challenge now being postponed until 2021. The main reasons for this decision was the uncertainty of Covid 19 being eradicated by September, Competitors being unable to make the provisional planned dates in September due to leave constraints and other booked commitments, venues and business’ not fully functioning. It is with great sadness that this decision was made.
The planning and organising carried out by the committee has continued and UKFSC 2021 will take place from Monday 10th May to Thursday 13th May 2021. The committee, with much appreciated cooperation from Sunsail, Fairview, Cowes Yacht Haven and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, has been able to ensure everything has been re-arranged for next year. We wish to thank all the teams that have paid in full. This has allowed all Yachts that were reserved for this year to be paid for, which meant our terms were met with the Charterers. This has then allowed us to move our dates without penalties.
However, no refunds will be made by Sunsail or Fairview which means all monies paid will be held over for 2021. All teams will be registered for the 2021 Challenge unless they inform us otherwise, in which case we will endeavour to resell that yacht when the entry system opens for 2021 in September. We ask that any individual crew member requesting a refund, arranges a replacement through their team. We fully understand that this is a difficult time for everyone but hope you understand our position. Any teams that have not yet paid in full and would like to continue to pay their entry fee are most welcome.
The UKFSC would also like to thank our Sponsors for 2020, WH Bence, EMILYRobot, Domestic Sprinklers, and Coldcut Cobra for their support at this time.
We apologise for the change and know people will be disappointed but in the circumstance this is the right decision.
Updates will be posted throughout the year and of our attendance at this year’s planned Emergency Service Show.
