High number of entries received for 2017 race

We have already had TWENTY yes TWENTY entries and it’s not even the end of January so be quick!

To book your Yacht contact Terry Hunt at Sunsail terryhunt@sunsail.com or telephone 02392 222221 . The price from 1700hrs Monday 8th May to 1700 hrs Thursday 11th May will be £1190. An additional training day on Monday 8th May is available this will be £250, yachts can be collected on Sunday 1900hrs if you take up this additional day.

Entry cost for a team of 8 will be £800. This is a slight increase on previous years. To enter your team please email us (info@ukfsc.org.uk) for the entry form link. A deposit of £200 per team will be required with your entry. FULL PAYMENT will be required by MARCH 1st along with all crew members shirt sizes. Additional crew members are at a cost of £60. This is still under £250 per person for a crew of 8, without the training day, for all 4 days.

Sunsail Yachts sleep 8 but can be crewed with up to 10. The two additional crew will need accommodation for the nights ashore, (see website for recommended accommodation). The UK Firefighters Sailing Challenge is open to all members of the blue light services, including retired, retained, and support staff. We do ask that with a crew of 8 that 6 are linked to the service and a crew of 10 that 7 are linked. This does not apply to Sponsors boats.

Many you will know Mick Stead and how important he has been to the Challenge as the founder and the Chairman for its first 9 years of running. Mick has informed us that due to him approaching 70, he has decided that this year will be his last. To mark that fact we would love to have all of Sunsail’s 30 boats out on the water and allow you all to say a fond farewell to him, and give him a run for his money on the race course.

The skippers information book will be sent out during March once your payment has been received.
